Colin Hoy is a Ph.D. candidate in neuroscience at UC Berkeley studying decision making, reward learning, and emotion. Prior to his Ph.D., Colin worked at the National Institute of Mental Health developing “mind reading” techniques to decode ongoing cognitive states using functional MRI brain scans. He applies his deep knowledge of the brain to the prospect of Elon Musk's company Neuralink, the ethical conundrums of emerging technologies, and a variety of other fascinating topics.
